John L. Sanders Award for Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching and Service
I’m honored by the news that I’ve been awarded the inaugural John L. Sanders Award for Distinguished Teaching and Service by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The award “recognizes faculty whose excellence in undergraduate teaching is matched by a sustained commitment to service, mentorship and advocacy that strengthens the broader university community,” Chancellor Lee Roberts writes. My award profile can be found here.
I can’t put into words the profound debt of gratitude I feel to the university, my colleagues, and, above all, to my students for this honor. I teach in an amazing community here in Chapel Hill, and I never forget it.
